Haven House and New Hope-Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center have halted efforts to merge their agencies.
In September, Haven House’s and New Hope-Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center’s boards approved a joint resolution to form a transition team to begin the process of merging and setting up a new agency that would have begun unified operations in January. The merged agency would have focused on all forms of domestic violence and child abuse, advocacy, prevention, safe shelter, treatment and victim’s services.
The transition team met in September and in a follow-up meeting prior to the holidays, said Betsy Cunningham, Haven House’s board president. Team members were asked to develop and execute financial, operation and outreach plans to complete the merger as seamlessly as possible.
